The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office unveiled the New Beginnings Julianne M. Holt Vocational Center, a training facility for inmates to learn trades such as ironworking, electrical work, welding, carpentry, and heavy equipment operation.

This surprise dedication honors Julianne Holt’s 31 years of service as Hillsborough County Public Defender and her continuous impact within our community through her service and leadership on various councils and advisory boards.

Over $7,500 worth of tools were donated by Milwaukee Tool to support the inmates’ training, providing them with valuable career opportunities post-release.

Our office expresses our thanks to Sheriff Chad Chronister and the HCSO team for their dedication. We congratulate the inmates recognized during the ceremony on their individual achievements in their respective vocational training. We look forward to witnessing the success of the vocational center and its impact.
